Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga where the poses have been modified to be practiced sitting on a chair or using a chair for support.
The sequence will gently stretch and move all areas of the body. It includes seated head, neck and shoulder stretches, some gentle twists and some energizing seated sun salutations to get us warm. We follow the sun salutations with a short sequence of standing poses to build strength and balance (the chair is used to assist with balance and the poses can be modified to be done seated if preferred). We finish with some stretches and movement for the legs, ankles and feet before ending with a lovely relaxation.
There are no pretzel poses and there's no getting up and down from the floor. This practice is suitable for everyone!
